Hi everybody

It’s time to get ready for the upcoming season of Clements Cutting Club.

First, I want to welcome our three new board members:  Pam Reisler, Stepahanie LaRocha, and Steve Schlesinger. 

For the most part, our club will run the same as last year with a few minor changes.   

This year we will be using a point system instead of money won to determine year-end awards.  This gives people that show all the time and don’t necessarily get the most money a chance to qualify for year-end awards.  We are keeping the money jackpots the same.  Please see the sample point system at our web site.  To qualify for year-end awards, a person must ride in at least 5 shows. 

Our popular saddle series will remain the same.  The money won in the last four shows will determine the winner of the saddle.   A saddle will be awarded to the Open, Non-pro, and Amateur winners. 

We are going to have a new youth program called Green Youth.  This class will run at the end of the regular youth class in the same herd.  A participant must be under 18 years old, may ride any horse and may cue or rein the horse as necessary.  This is not an NCHA approved class and we are aware of this, however it is intended to possibly get more youth involved.  A youth rider must choose one class or the other and will not be allowed to ride in both.  No buckle will be awarded in the Green youth class, however some awards will be decided on at a later date. 

Our first show is scheduled for March 11^th, with March 25^th as a rain date. 

We are always open to any suggestions that might improve our club, so if you have one please let any board member know.
