PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

Hello - We are ready to get started once again. Our April show will be held at Gavin Jordan's new ranch in Wilton. We plan to have all of our winter shows there. We are planning on getting back to year end awards this year, while still sticking with the jack-pot format. We are looking for sponsors to help make this possible. If you or anyone you know is interested in sponsoring your club, please get in touch with one of our board members. See you in April.

2002 SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

The Clements Cutting Club offers a unique opportunity to our supporters for the 2002 season. For $250.00, we will provide the following advertising opportunities:

  • We will make a 3' x 5' vinyl banner which will be displayed at each cutting on the inside arena walls.
  • We will run your business card ad in each of our monthly newsletters.
  • We will put your ad permanently on our web site.

In the past, our sponsors donated year-end awards. We changed our format beginning in 2001. Instead of year-end awards in all classes, we have been jack-potting all classes. The members have responded enthusiastically to this change. Our new advertising program reflects another change for the club. The Board of Directors believes it offers a much higher level of visibility for our advertisers.

Thank you for your support.

NCHA Rule Tidbit: We all know about PENALTIES..so when can we get CREDIT on our cuts?

Scenario #1: You step into the herd and proceed to drive out a cow. You have dropped your hand and you realize you do not have sufficient distance between you and the herd. Your hand is down so you use leg pressure to guide your horse and your horse moves forward to give you that ample room. Upon reaching the imaginary line from the herd ideally your horse should then lock down and hold that line even in the turns. When a horse is successful in accomplishing this credit should be given.

More on this rule next time.
