PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:
Hi everyone. I am sure looking forward to this season as a time to get together
with old friends, make new ones, and enjoy the sport of cutting.
As we make plans to have a successful
show season, we at the board meetings have discussed different
ideas to improve our club. One idea put forward was to move
the 2000 class toward the beginning of the day so that more
of the beginner cutters could take advantage of the expertise
of more trainers by both comments and observation. The club
needs to keep everyone involved in a positive manner, so for
the time being we have moved the 2000 class to immediately
follow the non-pro. I realize some people also ride in the
500, but we run into a problem with fresh cattle. I would certainly
appreciate any comments regarding this class change, as we
want to make this club work for everyone.
During the past winter improvements have
been made to the cattle moving situation, so we can have practice
cattle in the upper covered arena.
We are looking forward to our ranch cutting
class and the enthusiastic participants that really come out
to have a good time and get their horses in front of some cows.
We have also discussed having the usual
year end awards for each class, continuing our jackpot payouts,
and having a $1,000.00 year-end cash award for three divisions.
The divisions would consist of:
Division 1 to include:
Open
10000-novice horse
3000 novice horse
Division 2 to include:
Non-pro
10000-novice non-pro
3000 novice non-pro
Division 3 to include:
50000 amateur
2000 limit
500
The prize will be based on total money
won in each division using the same horse and rider combination
in all classes except the 2000 limit rider in which it will
be based on the rider with any horse.
The Ranch cutting class will receive the
same awards as the other classes, but will not be eligible
for the $1,000.00 year-end award.
Looking forward
to seeing all of you on April 17th.

In the past,
our sponsors donated year-end awards. We changed our format
beginning in 2001. In addition to year-end
awards in all classes, we have been jack-potting all classes.
The members have responded enthusiastically to this change.
Our new advertising program reflects another change for the
club. The Board of Directors believes it offers a much higher
level of visibility for our advertisers.
Thank you for your support.
