May, 2007 |
Saturday brought rain all day, which almost caused us to cancel Sunday’s show. A big thanks to a lot of work by Bret, Tom Kausch, Corlanne Shoemaker, and a few others for getting in a load of sand and building a back wall. Their efforts made it possible for us to have our show on Sunday in the covered arena. Thanks again!
The loping area was a bit crowded and the pen was a little short. Everyone’s cooperation and great attitude made the show quite successful and a lot of fun for all.
As more shows are planned for this summer in our area than ever before, it is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid schedule conflicts. For this reason, we have to change some of our dates. There is a conflicting NCHA show scheduled for the same weekend as our Sunday, May 13th show. However, we will keep our show on this date because many members don’t show NCHA and any other date during May would conflict with other scheduled shows. Come out and enjoy a relaxed Sunday on May 13th, Mother’s Day.
With Mother’s Day in mind, we decided to have a prize for "Mom." Any mother that shows a horse on Mother’s Day is eligible for a special “Mother’s Day Drawing”. The prize will be a pair of pearl earrings valued at $500.00. When you enter the drawing, you will receive a ticket. After writing your name on the ticket, put it in the drawing box. We will draw at the end of the day. You need not be present to win. Good luck moms!
Trainers remember to take advantage of the two free practice works with your clients and the complementary lunch.
Mark your calendars! July’s show date is changed to July 22nd, so there will not be a scheduling conflict with Gold Country on the 17th. We realize many members show in both clubs. See you on July 22nd!
Other than July’s schedule change, we see no other scheduling conflicts at this time. However, we will keep you advised of any other changes as soon as possible.
As always, we are looking for sponsors for any portion of our awards. If you feel you can help a little, it is GREATLY appreciated! Contact Debbie McGregor at (209) 274-0405.
Again, I want to thank you for a great first show and everyone’s cooperation and teamwork to pull it together!
NOTE: Entries for the May 13th show are due on Wednesday, May 9th.

beginning in 2001. In addition to year-end
awards in all classes, we have been jack-potting all classes.
The members have responded enthusiastically to this change.
Our new advertising program reflects another change for the
club. The Board of Directors believes it offers a much higher
level of visibility for our advertisers.
