PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:
Hello, and welcome to the end of the season. I hope you all had as much fun
as I did this year. We have one more weekend of fun…November
8th and 9th at the PCA show, and November 8th in the evening
at our annual Awards Banquet. Be sure to calendar these events!
I
would also like to thank all of our board members for their
help and support for the last three years. Next year we welcome
Mike Bakey, James Milum, Debbie McGregor, Kerry Feather, Renee
Gates, Joey Kinser and Larry Helgeson as new Board members.
Pete Jacoway is our new President, David Brooks is the Vice
President, Jeanne Lucas is the Show Secretary until a replacement
is found, Jeannette Brooks is the Treasurer, and the Secretary
position has not been filled as of this date.
I would like
to take this opportunity to tell everyone about Big D’s contribution
to the year-end awards program. Glen Drake has been an avid
supporter of the horse industry, particularly cutting and reined
cow horses, for over 35 years. His business “Big D” produces
premier horse supplies that we all are aware of, but what we need to think about
is how much he as done for cutting on the West coast. He has
graciously supplied our Top Five awards this year at a very
reasonable basis. He is an enthusiastic cutter; and we hope
to see his daughter, Devlyn, at some club shows next year.
His wife, Debbie, will be undoubtedly be there as always to
support them; and we should take the opportunity to thank them
personally for their contribution.
Hope to see
you at the banquet,
Bernie Talbot

ON THE MOVE!
Our good friend, RG Hill, has sold his ranch and has moved down South
to Phelan, California. We will miss RG and Bernie very much
and hope that they are well and enjoying their new location.
They are in the process of building a new home on the 11 acres
they have purchased. RG’s horses are being kept at his son’s
place. Bernie is getting ready for hip surgery, so things are
very busy for the Hill family. If you would like to drop them
a line, their address is:
R.G. and Bernie
Hill, P.O. Box 292939, Phelan, CA 92329-2939.
You can also
email them: rhill@ezcnx.com
On Tuesday, Oct. 14th, Luke Bakey underwent back surgery. He is now home and
doing well. The CCC wishes him a speedy recovery and hope he
is back on his feet soon.

The Clements Cutting Club offers a unique opportunity
to our supporters for the 2004 season. For $250.00, we will
provide the following advertising opportunities:
-
We will make a 3' x 5' vinyl banner which
will be displayed at each cutting on the inside arena walls.
-
We will run your business card ad in each
of our monthly newsletters.
-
We will put your ad permanently on our web
site.
In the past, our sponsors donated year-end awards.
We changed our format beginning in 2001. Instead of year-end
awards in all classes, we have been jack-potting all classes.
The members have responded enthusiastically to this change.
Our new advertising program reflects another change for the
club. The Board of Directors believes it offers a much higher
level of visibility for our advertisers.
Thank you for your support.
