PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

Another great show for September. We had 115 works, great weather and cattle, and a little fun for all. Ed Murphy did an adequate job of judging (he gave me a back fence or it would have been a great job). Just kidding, he always does a great job and is consistent and fair.

Our races are really heating up in almost all categories and it will come down to the last two shows. Remember, there is a $1,000.00 check for the winner in each division: Open, Non-pro and Amateur--the races are very close.

Also, remember that we are going to have a Jackpot Bridle-less cutting on Saturday. We will schedule it mid-day to allow as many as possible to compete. We will take signups for the bridle-less during the show, however it would help to tell Chris when you call in for your regular classes prior to the show. We are going to have the Never-Won-a-Buckle class on Sunday, and the buckle is ordered the same as the award buckles for all other classes (no cheapie in this club).

On Saturday we will not have the food truck so many members asked if we could have a pot luck. I will set up a few barbecues for anyone that wants to use them. Bring your own meat and one other dish to share (salads, vegetables, desert, maybe that famous family recipe). We will start the pot luck in the afternoon towards the end of the day, so you might want to bring a snack for breakfast. The food truck will be there on Sunday.

Some members asked to spend the night in their living quarters. I have no objections at all, however there is no power in the lower pasture. I have a few stalls available also if you would like to call me to reserve one. I will charge $10.00 per stall.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at our next shows, October 15 and 16.

Clements Cutting Club extends their deepest sympathy to any of our members who have family or friends who have been victims of Hurricanes Katrina or Rita. The devastation is horrific and we are lucky we were not in her path. Our website, however, was affected. Your webmaster was unable to "reach" the site to perform show result, newsletter and other updates until recently. Thank you for your patience.

PRACTICE PEN: Practices in the show pen will be held at the end of each set. However, it will be limited to the first 3 to sign up. YOU CAN ONLY SIGN UP AT THE SHOW. There will be no phone reservations allowed. The practices are $30.00 and 2 1/2 minutes long.

CCC reserves the right to cancel all practices if there is a substantially high amount of show entries.

The Clements Cutting Club offers a unique opportunity to our supporters for the 2005 season. For $250.00, we will provide the following advertising opportunities:

• We will make a 3' x 5' vinyl banner which will be displayed at each cutting on the inside arena walls.
• We will run your business card ad in each of our monthly newsletters.
• We will put your ad on our web site.

Ad Rates for 3 Month Period:

In the past, our sponsors donated year-end awards. We changed our format beginning in 2001. In addition to year-end awards in all classes, we have been jack-potting all classes. The members have responded enthusiastically to this change. Our new advertising program reflects another change for the club. The Board of Directors believes it offers a much higher level of visibility for our advertisers.
