October, 2007 |
Our September show was great. We had a great day, good cattle, and most importantly fun. Chris Brown did a great job of judging.
Our never won a buckle class was won by Peggy Priest. Congratulations Peggy.
We will have a never won a buckle class in each of our October shows.
A few reminders for our upcoming show and awards banquet.
Remember that the October show is a 2 day show and that you have to register individually for each day. (One entry for Saturday and one entry for Sunday)
If you are planning to attend the awards banquet, please call Chris Pino at 916-687-4831 so that we may get a head count. The flyer is in the newsletter.
Remember that the awards banquet is also time to elect officers and board members.
To keep our club fresh and viable, we need input and involvement from members. If you would like to be a board member place your name on the ballot and make things happen in The Clements Cutting Club. Board meets the 2nd Tuesday after each show to discuss ways to improve our shows and club in general. We want to keep this fun for everyone and new members and ideas are always welcome.
As a thank you to all of you for supporting the Club throughout the year we are sponsoring a tri tip lunch for everyone on Sun. October 21st. Lori will be preparing
barbeque sandwiches for you all.
See you all in October. Remember the shows are October 20th and 21st.
Syd Curtis, President
If you are interested in being part of the NCHA
show in Ogden next year
you must fax your horses papers to Chris Pino at
(916) 687-8432 or bring them
to the next show. We will also need your NCHA
number. This information
needs to be sent to NCHA for you to participate
in year-end points.
Don't Forget Your Papers!
Remember that proof of NCHA membership and a copy of each horse's registration papers must be presented to the show secretary at the time of entry. Beginning with the 2007 point year, show secretaries may levy a fine of $5.00 for each violation. The required documentation can be as simple as a photo copy of your membership card overlaid on the horse's papers.
This brings NCHA in line with accepted practices at other major show associations and it will streamline and accelerate the processing of show results.
Renew Your 2007 NCHA Membership!
The grace period for NCHA membership renewal ended March 1. If you haven't renewed yet, hurry and do so...you can renew online right now and remember if you plan to compete in Amateur and/or Non Pro classes, complete the Amateur/Non Pro application also. Don't miss a single issue of the award-winning Cutting Horse Chatter magazine, renew now!
You do not have to be a NCHA member to show at Clement Cutting Club Shows, unless you want to qualify for the NCHA Western National Championships.
BONUS!
Cutters who finish in the Top 10 in their Area or Affiliate standings in 2007 are eligible to compete in the Wayne Hodges Trailers * Outlaw Conversions NCHA Western National Championships, scheduled for April - May 2008, in scenic Ogden, Utah. In addition to all the action in the Golden Spike Arena, the show will feature the $27,000 AQHA/NCHA Affiliate Challenge, twice-daily broadcasts of Tom Holt's NCHA Cutting Edge News, presented by Galles Harrel Cutting Clinics, a team roping for cutters and friends, and the Daily Chatter newsletter.

In the past,
our sponsors donated year-end awards. We changed our format
beginning in 2001. In addition to year-end
awards in all classes, we have been jack-potting all classes.
The members have responded enthusiastically to this change.
Our new advertising program reflects another change for the
club. The Board of Directors believes it offers a much higher
level of visibility for our advertisers.
Thank you for your support.
